Just arrived in Tennessee after a few glorious days in Manhattan, NY!

The other day, while doing some of my usual people watching  at Madison Square Park, I was amazed to see this unbelievably loooooooong line of people waiting to buy a burger from the ‘Shake Shack’, especially since there were hundreds more places to eat (including great burgers!) only a few seconds away…with no waiting involved.

And I began pondering…

What would make you? me? others? stand in line for a service that was WORTH THE LINE AND THE WAIT?

I brainstormed on paper in my usual messy, creative intuitive way …

...and the concept that ranked highest  - on my own intuitive ranking scale – was that of NICHING.

Yep! The Shake Shack only sells burgers – REALLY DELICIOUS BURGERS , at least according to those who voted by standing in line.

To me, niching used to mean the end of my creativity and flow. It felt like a contraction, not and expansion. It challenged my wholeness, my depth and my desire to HELP ANYONE AND EVERYONE!

Like many of YOU, I was truly skilled at working with a very wide range of people and challenges, and in no way wanted to narrow my-SELF or my services. 

BUT…

THE MORE I RESISTED NICHING, THE MORE I EXPERIENCED: 

 - Burnout (I was trying to be everything to everyone – not a good ‘self-care’ recipe)

 - Inconsistent income (scattered energy brings in inconsistent results)

 - Delays in launching lucrative products/ programs (I couldn’t decide who my ideal client truly was…..so I didn’t know which ‘goodies’ to deliver!)

 - Gnawing self-doubt and worry (my energy was scattered and my results reflected accordingly …which led me to doubt myself, my skills and my message – and wonder if I should “get a real job” to supplement my dreams)

 -  Anger at source for abandoning me and my dreams. 

So I began to pray for guidance!

I prayed, I journaled and I listened! 

And that “niching” word, still kept popping up …again …and again …and again.

Until it finally dawned on me that perhaps it was ‘moi’ who was not heeding the guidance of source and that maybe, if I just remained open long enough, a clear message would actually land! 

The message I finally received was that “niching” could support the ‘creative flow of my soul‘ to ground and take root in a way that would not only support me, but serve the people who desired and needed my services.

It would provide the masculine structure for my feminine spirit!

And It is precisely this guidance and strategy that I extend to you.

This week’s question via the Soul Guidance Hub comes from an Executive and Career Coach in the USA who prefers to remain anonymous. I will refer to her as Jenny.

Question: I grew up on a farm, and have lived in a big city all of my adult life. I am feeling a big need to move to a smaller city/town at this point in my life, but after spending 28 years in this city (San Diego,) I am feeling stuck as to how to make a move and change my life. This would mean leaving friends, business contacts, etc, that I know and value very much. I just turned 60 last year, and I don’t want my life to pass me by…. but my fears have me stuck and not making movement. I still need to earn an income for at least 5 more years, and that is also a concern of what will I do when I move to a smaller city.

Tal’s Guidance: Dearest Jenny, My own experience has shown me that there is no other way to follow one’s calling, other than to follow it. And following our calling will always require that we MOVE, change or do things differently than we did up until that point.  

Let me share a current experience from my own life ,to shed light on what this may look like.

Two months ago I literally followed my calling to come to back to the USA . I left my friends, family, a thriving practice, a teaching environment I loved and hundreds of students, to pursue my soul’s very clear guidance to make this move once again. This was by no means a frivolous choice and was made after months of prayer and a deep connection and listening to my inner guidance.

I made a choice many years ago to live a life sourced in spirit and soul. Many of my friends and colleagues would say things like “you’re so courageous to do this!”. “I could never take off like that without knowing exactly what awaited me!” etc. etc. 

But at this point in my life I knew enough to know that choosing to ignore the whispers of my soul would be far more costly than leaning into new possibilities for expansion, evolution and growth. 

Did I have all my  t’s crossed? Absolutely not. 

Did my ego self  ‘freak out’ at times? Yes it did. 

Did I have moments of doubt?  Of course I did! 

Did I shed a few tears? You bet I did. 

But ultimately I made a choice many years ago to live a life sourced in soul – sourced in a deep knowing that I am always held, guided and directed even when outer appearances may seem otherwise.

For me, this has required that I cultivate a new reference point for my sense of security and safety – a reference point grounded in the infinite, loving, all abundant realm of soul.

 You see, ultimately there is no real safety in this physical world. Our ego would like to think there is and will go to great lengths to secure this illusion. It will hoard things, create unhealthy codependent relationships and basically hook into a survival or fear-based illusion that it is in control. 

But at the end of the day, if you choose to live a life based on this false sense of security, you should expect to experience the repercussions of this realm too.

And the bottom line is that we can’t experience freedom if we’re not willing to take that first step out of our self-imposed prison.

Now, is it easy to take this first step? Absolutely not.

Can the illusion feel so real that it stops us in our tracks? Yes! Been there.

Which is why I’m such a big advocate for keeping company with other high frequency people who are consciously choosing soul over ‘fear-based’ thinking, and engaging in possibility, evolution and movement rather than looping around in lack, fear and worry.

Jenny, I’m a big advocate for MOVING  – for taking action in the direction of soul. Sometimes ‘baby steps’ are appropriate and other times ‘taking a big leap of faith’ forward is the only way to get us out of our ‘self-imprisoning’ course (which I have a sense may be most fitting for you right now – but always check in with your own inner guidance, ok!)

I’m also a big believer in not doing it alone, and reaching out for support to work with whatever energetic gunk and/or ‘less evolved’ inner parts within us (none of us are exempt!) that need healing.

The process of moving forward while tending to the needs of ‘those parts within us’ that aren’t aligned with our goals and intentions, is by far the fastest and most effective path I’ve found, to actualize our highest potential and live an authentically purpose-filled and vital life!

 I know this one so very well as I too am the psychotherapist, supervisor, intuitive, savvy business coach, energy healer, family constellations facilitator, reflexologist, kinesiologist, hypnotherapist , world traveler…..and so many more modalities, interests and hats I wear that it may get your head swirling (or whirling) just reading this.

And what I have learned and witnessed for sure, is that anything that swirls (or whirls:) cannot ground!

And what doesn’t take root cannot support you experience physical-‘real-world’ success.

In other words, you may have all the talent, skills and wisdom in the world, but if you don’t ground it into a structured container to pass along to others, in a way that they can actually receive, YOU will not have the opportunity to drink from the depth of your own inner well and reap the financial and/or emotional rewards you seek and deserve. 

So Cindy, just remember that what you offer provides a clear gateway for people to enter. Your website actually clearly reflects YOUR specific gateway at this time. If this niche brings you joy and makes your heart sing, embrace and honor it as the gateway that it is…. and find ways to connect with the people who are looking for this entrance RIGHT NOW.

Once they enter your gateway they will see and experience the many gardens, mansions and opportunities available for them on YOUR grounds.

I cannot tell you how many clients I’ve served who entered the gateway they thought they needed and ended up ‘staying’ to receive what their heart and soul really yearned for.

Soul, spirit, source knows exactly whom you can serve and whom can be served by you.

Your job is to create the gateway (aka niche) that feels good to you at this time… and let people know how to enter.

 Then let go and let in:)

Question: I have been a spiritual teacher since 1972. Now I’m turning my skills into a spiritual coaching process. I want to know, from your experience, what the strongest path to take –  group coaching or individual coaching to start?

Tal’s Guidance: Dear Kristine, How wonderful that you have decided  to focus on the coaching route.

In terms of where to start, it really depends on what you most love to do and the level of reach you already have with your ‘tribe’ or peeps.

 If you already have a ‘tribe’ or ‘list’ of people to invite to your ‘new’ work, creating a workshop can work really well. Personally that is how I began. I co-created fairly intimate workshops with 6 to 12 participants at a time. Through these workshops I was able to deeply connect with people who had never experienced me or my work before. The workshop format allowed them to experience the transformation available for them and many of them then self enrolled in one of my higher-end one-on-one platinum programs which did require a higher level of emotional, energetic and financial investment. You see, once they experienced what was was possible for them, investing in their next level of growth became the next most logical step to take.

That said, working one-on-one with people is the easiest and fastest way to begin sharing your gifts RIGHT AWAY because you can literally start your coaching sessions as soon as you connect with that person who is excited about your work and ready to go! Also, you can create material that is specifically tailored to the processes they require. In fact, many of the processes, systems and materials I use in my workshops and programs today, directly arose from my interaction with one-on-one clients over the years. Working with them literally opened up a window into what they needed and what worked and created results!

So Kristine, my main coaching request to you is to begin sharing your gifts where you’re at. Don’t over think the strategy and show up to serve whenever you can. I have personally found that that IS the fastest path to success!

This week’s question via the Soul Guidance Hub comes from a life coach in Israel who prefers to remain anonymous. I will address her as Rebecca.

Question: Our family is in need of money and I was offered a part time position that would have been lucrative. However, EVERY conversation with the manager left me feeling confused, angry and unsettled. I felt she was a very toxic individual and I usually get along beautifully with everyone! I ultimately rejected the offer and am now wondering if I sabotaged myself, or acted in my best and higher interests. I am still feeling very confused and unsettled.

Tal’s Guidance: Dear Rebecca,  The first thing I would invite you to do is take a few deep breaths and gently come back to YOUR center. It is very apparent from your email that a part of you is frazzled and spinning in “shoulda – coulda”  land – which is often the case when we’re in survival mode. Please know that I have complete compassion and empathy for that place, especially when you have a family to feed.

What I also know beyond a shadow of a doubt is that this abundant universe is always working FOR you!

And let me ask you the following question: “How lucrative would it be for your heart and soul to work in an environment that was emotionally and spiritually toxic?”

Now for sure, there are many times in our business and life when we will have uncomfortable thresholds to cross and self-sabotaging tactics to overcome. However, these become more apparent when we are inspired by an authentic vision or a deep calling.  So…. connecting with your vision/ calling is key and foundational here.

Once your vision is ‘intact’ (this is an unfolding process, so I am referring to your vision or inspiration as it is showing up for you in this arena right now!), I would literally ask source/God/’all that is’ to show you the way he/she/it would have money flow to you! This is when listening in to your intuitive guidance is key! The universe will send you information through people, bumper sticker (not kidding here!), newspaper articles, dreams and in every way possible. Allow yourself to listen and take action on the guidance that comes your way.

Don’t worry about ‘being wrong’. Your job is to ‘get off the fence’ and into action. Once you ‘get off the fence’, you WILL receive instant feedback from the universe whether something is or isn’t right for you (as you did with this “toxic individual”).

Once your vision is ‘intact’, you have asked (your) ‘source/all that is’ for guidance and taken inspired action accordingly, YOUR JOB IS TO TRUST that the universe is orchestrating people, events and circumstances FOR YOU, not against you!  

Rebecca, I hope this gives you a little more insight and relief for your unfolding process.
