The 3 BIGGEST Mistakes Most Soul-centered Entrepreneurs Make by Tal Shai

Living my dream of serving my peeps while traveling the world and doing what I love is nothing less than INCREDIBLE. It’s a gift to know that you are not meant to live a cookie cutter life or have a 9 to 5 job (nothing wrong with that if that’s truly aligned with YOU!) or sacrifice your soul to enjoy the financial freedom you deserve. 

But I know first-hand that connecting the dots between your vision, message and gifts with the business side of things, can at times feel daunting. Where to start? Whom to serve? How to serve?….

So I put together a list of the 3 big mistakes I’ve seen conscious, soul-centered entrepreneurs make  when trying to turn their soul’s purpose into gold(TM).

1. Wanting to serve everyone! 

You know the saying, “jack of all trades and master of none”?

Perhaps you truly are a master of the many trades you have studied (I will be the first to raise my hand on that one) and yet, as long as you don’t lead with ONE EXPERTISE (which is the gateway to your many other gifts and goodies!), chances are you’ll make less money while working more!

Let me assure you my dearest kindred soul, that YOU are already an expert at whatever you do. 

No-one can be YOU nor provide the specific solutions you deliver in the unique way that you do!

But, if you want to make money by sharing your gifts, it is important you NICHE your essence and services in such a way that position you as the ‘go to’ person in your industry! 

The first thing to do is to get really clear about whom you serve and how. Then create offerings that SERVE your tribe in a powerful and palpable way.

This can be the one key that can turn your hobby and passions into a viable income producing business. Which, my dearest heart-based, loving healer and change-agent, you’ll need to embrace if you’re to be channel of healing and transformation FULL-TIME! 

2. Discounting the energetic work.

Business strategy is important and necessary, but energetic alignment is what separates those that succeed in business and those that fail (and by this, my dearest soul sista, I never mean that you are a failure if a venture doesn’t reap the ‘real-world’ results you seek. It simply means that there is more energetic alignment to be done to connect YOU with your vision). 

I can tell you first hand that what stopped me from leaping ahead in my business at first, was not lack of strategy (I purchased every home-study course and book on the business and strategy I wanted to master!), but rather my fears, doubts  and insecurities. 

When your energy is not aligned with your vision, NO AMOUNT OF STRATEGY will get you to your goal. 

When I tapped into the hidden dynamics, both individually and ancestrally, that were holding me back from fully stepping into the business and life of my dreams, it felt like I was miraculously given a set of wings. Suddenly I could soar. And the funny thing is that I had no clue what was possible and what this could feel like, a moment before the experience itself .

I have worked with CEO’s of multi million dollar companies (and to be transparent, when I wasn’t making even close to that!) who came to me for the energetic work alone (aka My ‘Soul Movements for Success(TM)’ method). I have seen first hand how money just shows up, or clients call out of ‘no-where’, or joy emanates from the core of one’s being when our energetic field is free of entanglements and gunk!

Always put ‘energetic clearing’ before anything else!

3. Thinking your big vision is enough.

So many of us think we can live in that pent house without laying the foundations for it first! We think we can host others on the top floor of our vision without having a solid foundation to hold it up.

I get it! If you’re a soul-centered entrepreneur like myself, you’ve been blessed with a big vision. And big visions are necessary and wondrous, but they can also entice us into magically thinking we can bypass the groundwork needed to lay a solid foundation to hold them up!

This is where it’s so important to learn the about the processes, structures and strategy needed to turn your BIG VISION into a viable vehicle, into a viable business, that is sturdy enough to nourish, sustain and lift both you and the people you serve! 

Your vision is truly a gift from soul but without the backup of an appropriate infrastructure, it will never get the chance to gift you (and your tribe) with the purpose it was destined to serve.  

And the quickest way to build the most conducive structure for YOUR magnificent vision is to get the guidance and support from a mentor, guide or coach who has walked that path before you! 

None of us were expected to learn to read and write  alone….and most of us wouldn’t consider building our home on our lonesome self. And yet, I see so many entrepreneurial souls trying to build a sustainable business without getting the support and guidance needed to lay the core foundational structures in place (so that it sustains both them and their tribe).

One thing I knew early on, even when my business was still a ‘hobby’, was that I simply “didn’t know what I didn’t know”. So, even while deep in debt (and after moving back in with my parents), I ALWAYS invested in coaches , teachers and guides who DID know!

One of the keys to my own success has always been making decisions based on where I want to be, rather than where I am….and investing in the support needed to back my vision (practically and energetically).

Just arrived in Tennessee after a few glorious days in Manhattan, NY!

The other day, while doing some of my usual people watching  at Madison Square Park, I was amazed to see this unbelievably loooooooong line of people waiting to buy a burger from the ‘Shake Shack’, especially since there were hundreds more places to eat (including great burgers!) only a few seconds away…with no waiting involved.

And I began pondering…

What would make you? me? others? stand in line for a service that was WORTH THE LINE AND THE WAIT?

I brainstormed on paper in my usual messy, creative intuitive way …

...and the concept that ranked highest  - on my own intuitive ranking scale – was that of NICHING.

Yep! The Shake Shack only sells burgers – REALLY DELICIOUS BURGERS , at least according to those who voted by standing in line.

To me, niching used to mean the end of my creativity and flow. It felt like a contraction, not and expansion. It challenged my wholeness, my depth and my desire to HELP ANYONE AND EVERYONE!

Like many of YOU, I was truly skilled at working with a very wide range of people and challenges, and in no way wanted to narrow my-SELF or my services. 

BUT…

THE MORE I RESISTED NICHING, THE MORE I EXPERIENCED: 

 - Burnout (I was trying to be everything to everyone – not a good ‘self-care’ recipe)

 - Inconsistent income (scattered energy brings in inconsistent results)

 - Delays in launching lucrative products/ programs (I couldn’t decide who my ideal client truly was…..so I didn’t know which ‘goodies’ to deliver!)

 - Gnawing self-doubt and worry (my energy was scattered and my results reflected accordingly …which led me to doubt myself, my skills and my message – and wonder if I should “get a real job” to supplement my dreams)

 -  Anger at source for abandoning me and my dreams. 

So I began to pray for guidance!

I prayed, I journaled and I listened! 

And that “niching” word, still kept popping up …again …and again …and again.

Until it finally dawned on me that perhaps it was ‘moi’ who was not heeding the guidance of source and that maybe, if I just remained open long enough, a clear message would actually land! 

The message I finally received was that “niching” could support the ‘creative flow of my soul‘ to ground and take root in a way that would not only support me, but serve the people who desired and needed my services.

It would provide the masculine structure for my feminine spirit!

And It is precisely this guidance and strategy that I extend to you.
